Support Ethical Storytelling

The stories we tell matter. Stories are more than a communications tactic. Stories have the power to not only frame reality, but create reality.

When working with vulnerable populations, we have an opportunity to tell hopeful, dignifying, human stories. Stories not only connect donors and volunteers to our work, but give life and hope to the people we serve.

At Compassion First, we value authentic, ethical storytelling. It requires vulnerability from the organization, and those we serve. Authentic stories are complex. In the age of 3-minute nonprofit videos designed to make you cry, it takes courage to tell a real story, and not an oversimplified prescribed narrative.
