Asiya

Asiya was one of the first kids in our sponsorship program! The staff began offering her and some of her peers tutoring before we even had a space, conducting the lessons at Asiya’s home. At home, she is a wonderful helper, often assisting her mother with cleaning and babysitting her younger siblings. At the shelter, Asiya’s character carries over and she’s seen as a role model and a leader to many of the younger kids. When it comes to her academics, Asiya is an incredibly bright student, and several times her school has even sent her to competitions in storytelling. We are excited and proud to announce that she has officially moved onto pursuing a high school education! She also is a part of Capoeira classes and was invited to participate in the National Championship in Jakarta this last year.
