A 5K WALK FOR FREEDOM
On June 25th, the community surrounding Woodlake is coming together with the anti-trafficking organization Compassion First to bring hope to the darkest places and freedom to the most precious girls.
This event is inspired and led by Madison Argyle, a teenager living in the Woodlake Community. For the past six years, she has used her birthday as a way to make a difference in the lives of others. This year is extra special – her Sweet 16. So, she is going all out with a 5K Lantern Walk/Run to raise awareness and funds for the work that Compassion First is doing to care for child survivors of sex trafficking.
“The girls CF cares for are my age, and I want to help them and let them know that they matter and are loved. Our family has worked closely with this organization for many years. They are very special to us.” – Madison Argyle
We will start at the Woodlake Pavilion at 6:30 pm with live music, food, speakers, and kids’ activities. We will end with a 5k twilight walk/run through Woodlake carrying lanterns. It’s going to be a special night!
In addition to supporting Compassion First, the Richmond-based organization, Into the Neighborhood, will also be onsite to collect donations for Get Clean! Baskets. We invite you to support this community-based work through your donation of hygiene items.
